Côte d'Ivoire announces first partial vote results

Côte d'Ivoire’s election authorities announced late Monday partial results from overseas polling in the country's presidential vote. Electoral commission spokesman Yacouba Bamba announced on television that of some 15,000 of these overseas voters, 60 per cent voted for challenger Alassane Ouattara and 40 per cent for his rival, President Laurent Gbagbo.
