Madagascar's Rajoelina reappoints former PM
Madagascar’s leader Andry Rajoelina on Wednesday reappointed outgoing Prime Minister Camille Vital, who resigned last week as part of a roadmap to form a consensus government and resolve the political crisis in the country.

Rajoelina, the president of Madagascar’s transitional government, said he decided to reappoint Vital after meeting with all the candidates.
Vital resigned Thursday as part of a roadmap proposed by a mediator and signed by eight political parties. Rajoelina was tasked with finding a consensus Prime Minister.
The groups all proposed their own candidates, with Vital presenting himself as his own successor.
The formation of a consensus government is key to solving the political crisis in the country, sparked when Rajoelina, backed by the army, staged a coup against former President Marc Ravalomanana in 2009.
