French fighter jets fly over Libya

Several French fighter jets flew over Libya Saturday on reconnaissance missions, according to a French military source, as world leaders gathered in Paris for a summit on how to implement a UN security council resolution authorising the use of air power to impose a no-fly zone over the country.

The Rafale planes took off Saturday afternoon from Saint-Dizier in eastern France, the military source told the AFP news agency. They are participate in reconnaissance missions all afternoon.

They reportedly encountered no problems after flying over the whole country.

Libya’s leader Moammar Kadhafi warned France and other world leaders on Saturday that they would regret if they attacked Libya.
