West Africa fights piracy upswing

West African countries are meeting today in Cotonou, Benin, to discuss a recent upsurge in pirate attacks. The International Maritime Bureau has registered 20 acts of piracy in the coastal waters off Benin in 2011. There were none in 2010. A piracy expert explains this dramatic increase in attacks off the coast of West Africa.
