Deal to seal Tunisia's new government

Issued on:

Tunisia's political parties have held power-sharing talks after agreeing on appointments to key posts. Hamadi Jebali of the Islamist Ennahda looks set to become Tunisia's new prime minister and Moncef Marzouki of the Congress for the Republic party (CPR), will become president. The deal comes after democratic elections last month and nine months after the overthrow of Zine el Abidine Ben Ali, the first ruler toppled in the Arab Spring.
