Maternal deaths in Zambia

Quality maternal health care continues to be out of reach for the majority of women in Sub-Saharan Africa. Over half a million women die during pregnancy or during childbirth around the world, according to the World Health Organization. In Zambia alone, it is estimated some eight women die each day due to pregnancy and childbirth complications.
