In Democratic Republic of Congo, many musicians sing about their country’s hardships and problems in particular the exploitation of the country’s vast mineral wealth. Many artists feel the government isn’t doing enough to take advantage of the country’s rich cultural heritage. At the end of last year, incumbent President Joseph Kabila was re-elected on the platform of his public works policies, the so-called 'cinq chantiers'. Lexxus Legal, a Congolese rapper, talks about his music, the DRC’s government and his unusual stage name.
