Kenya has welcomed an announcement by the United States' sixth largest company, General Electric, to make wide-ranging investments in the country. GE will finance several infrastructure, development, energy, health and IT projects. Nairobi is hoping the move will encourage other global investors to also invest in the country, so that home-grown innovation can take off and spur its economic growth.
