Senegal presidential candidate Ibrahima Fall speaks

Issued on:

The former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo has arrived in Senegal at the head of an African Union mission ahead of presidential elections due to take place on Sunday. Senegal has been the scene of violent protests against President Abdoulaye Wade's controversial bid to run for a third term in office. The opposition continues to call for protests against Wade, despite a ban on rallies. Some candidates are calling for the election to be delayed, among them Ibrahima Fall, a former foreign minister, and the presidential candidate for the Taxaw Temm coalition.
