New challenges for Nation Media Group expansion

Issued on:

The Nation Media Group was founded by his Highness the Aga Khan in 1959 and has become the largest independent media house in East and Central Africa. It includes papers such as The Nation in Kenya, and has been quoted on the Nairobi Stock Exchange since the early 1970s. Since 1992, it controls the Ugandan-based The Monitor and is a major shareholder in several Tanzanian papers. But the group faces perhaps its largest challenges in expanding into Rwanda and South Sudan. Tom Mshindi, Managing Director of the Newspaper division, spoke to RFI.
