The former Liberian President Charles Taylor is to face judgement later today for crimes committed during the civil war in Sierra Leone. The former Liberian leader's trial began at the Special Court for Sierra Leone", but was moved to The Hague where it now remains. The verdict is being seen as a step forward in the long peace process, and a way of moving away from a violent past.
