Egypt looks set for a run-off presidential vote between Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohammed Mursi and former prime minister Ahmed Shafiq. If the initial results are officially confirmed on Sunday, the two candidates will go to a second round on 16-17 June.

While Egyptians hold their breath ahead of the electoral result, Cairo's graffiti artists defied the authorities on the last day of voting and went out to paint over the city's street art using the walls to illustrate how they feel about events in the country.

RFI recorded some of images adorning the streets of Cairo's downtown area which is awash with graffiti one year after the ouster of former president Hosni Mubarak.
