Desperation for a job has driven many people to do jobs that are harmful to human health and to the environment. In many African countries, thousands of people make a living by burning e-waste to get precious metals. Developing countries, reluctant to recycle their e-waste, sometimes illegally export it to Africa. But experts say Africans can make a lot of money if they properly recycle this illegal electronic-waste.
