South Soudan remains dependent on help

In a speech marking the anniversary of his country's independence, South Sudan's President Salva Kiir says a lot of progress still remains to made. South Sudan, which is one of the world's poorest nations, is still heavily dependent on help from foreign powers, and remains in dispute with its northern neighbour. So is it too early to trumpet the successes of the world's newest nation? Former Irish president Mary Robinson, a leading member of the Elders, a group of independent global leaders working for peace and human rights, comments.
