Early marriages for Swahili girls face growing criticism

The Swahili people have lived along Kenya’s coastal islands of Mombasa, Lamu and Wasini for more than five centuries, and many of their traditions have stood the test of time. One of those traditions rooted in religion is the early marriage of young girls. However, critics say the girls should focus on getting an education and finding jobs instead. RFI investigates.
