An exiled Gambian opposition group last week President Yahya Jammeh 30 days to give up power to make way for a political transition. At a press conference in Paris, the National Transitional Council of the Gambia said it intends to organise elections as well as the drafting of a new constitution. But it did not say what would happen to Jammeh should he ignore theultimatum. Yankuba Darboe, the group's finance minister, explains.
