Emmanuel Babayaro helps celebrate World Aids Day in Nigeria
To celebrate World Aids Day, Nigerian national football stars, the Super Eagles and celebrity actors forming an opposing team, Team Nollywood, will battle it out on the pitch in Lagos to call attention to this year’s theme of Zero Tolerance.

Friends Africa (Friends of the Global Fund Africa) is a pan-African organisation that works to mobilise strategic political and financial support in the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
Working as its goodwill ambassador is Emmanuel Babayaro. He was a gold medallist on the Nigerian national football team at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, his brother, Celestine Babayaro plays for England’s Chelsea team.

After speaking to Friends Africa about the issues facing Aids sufferers today, Emmanuel Babayaro, now a singer and actor, brought on board his friends to help make today’s match informative and special.
A mobile voluntary counselling and testing station will be on hand to allow people to receive free counselling and testing. Those attending today’s match will also have access to educational material about HIV and other related Sexually Transmitted Infections. There will also be photo sessions with celebrities attending the event, that will later be broadcast on TV.
