The High Court in London has ordered Reginald Mengi, Tanzanian media tycoon, to pay more than a million euros in legal fees to a British blogger. Mengi sued Sarah Hermitage for libel after she used her blog to explain how threats and harassment forced her to leave her farm in Tanzania - a farm she had purchased from a Mengi family member. A High Court judge found Mengi had "encouraged or permitted" a hostile and defamatory coverage in two of his Dar Es Salaam newspapers, The Guardian and Nipashe. Hermitage, who now lives in Canterbury, England, spoke to RFI.

The High Court Judge is quite

The High Court Judge is quite simply WRONG - and obviously clueless. -- Ms Hermitage persecuted the richer, more famous brother for the sins of one that was not such a good target. She should know that what she has done will come back in spades to haunt her.... and she knows what she has done...Ms Hermitage -- why don't you tell them who is helping you fund Mr. Mengi's persecusion ? .. It is 2012 / 2013 and still the Brittish are ruining what is still good in Africa.... I am disgusted at this outcome.. It is just plain WRONG
