Zuma reelected ANC chief

Issued on:

South African President Jacob Zuma has been re-elected as the head of the ruling African National Congress Party. Almost 4-thousand voting delegates voted overwhelmingly in Zuma's favour - heading off a challenge from his deputy Kgalema Motlanthe. Businessman Cyril Ramaphosa took the deputy presidency - setting him up as Zuma's eventual successor. RFI spoke to Mondli Makhanya, the Editor-In-Chief of South Africa's Times Media Group to discuss the significance of Zuma's re-election.
