RFI reporter Hassan Ruvakuki this week saw his life sentence reduced to three years in prison by an appeals court in Burundi. He was accused of "terrorism" after he covered the emergence of a new Burundian rebel group in Tanzania and was convicted of planning an attack. Victor Abuso from our sister station RFI Kiswahili worked with Ruvakuki.
