Namib Sand Sea wins World Heritage title

Six new sites have been inscribed on the World Heritage list by the Paris- based United Nations cultural organisation, Unesco. Among them is the Namib Sand Sea in Namibia, a unique coastal fog desert with a diverse range of large shifting dunes. Mary Seely of the Gobabeb Research and Training Centre compiled the dossier for the World Heritage nomination.
