Kayumba accuses Kagame

Issued on:

Rwanda's former army chief of staff says he is ready to give evidence about the attack on the plane of former president Juvénal Habyarimana, which sparked the Rwandan genocide in 1994. General Faustin Kayumba Nyamwasa who lives in exile in South Africa was implicated in the attack in a report by French judge Jean-Louis Brugière. He fled Rwanda in February 2010 after being accused of involvement in grenade attacks in Kigali. In June 2010, there was an attempt on his life, an incident he blames on President Paul Kagame. Kayumba outlines his accusations against the regime in Kigali.
