UN calls for increased trade within Africa

Trade within the African continent, or Intra-Africa trade, is needed in order to boost the economy on the continent, according to a new report by the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Africa has the lowest intraregional trade out of all the continents, at only 11 percent. RFI spoke to Taffere Tesfachew, the director of the Division for Africa at UNCTAD, to find out why.
