Kenyan radio host faces ICC trial on hate speech charges

A Kenyan radio host, Joshua arap Sang is to go on trial tomorrow at the International Criminal Court in The Hague. He is accused of hate speech and organising killings during the clashes that marred the 2007 presidential elections. Sang will be tried for crimes against humanity, including murder, torture and persecution of political opponents. Sang, from the Kalenjin ethnic group, is expected to plead not guilty. RFI spoke to Maina Kiai, a leading Kenyan rights advocate and former chairman of Kenya's National Human Rights Commission.
