Bozizé plots his comeback

Issued on:

François Bozizé, Central African Republic's deposed president, has left France for east Africa this week, according to diplomatic sources. Bozizé inititally fled to Cameroon when Séléka rebels toppled him in March. He sought refuge in France in July and announced his plan to stage a comeback. Bozizé is now believed to be seeking support from South Sudan and Uganda. But Roland Marchal, an analyst with the French research institute CNRS, says Bozizé is "a man of the past".
