Albinos in Nigeria fight back

Issued on:

People with Albinism, who are also known as Albinos, suffer some of the worst cases of discrimination and human rights abuses in Africa. Albinism is a genetically inherited condition where the hair, skin and eyes lack pigmentation. A recent United Nations report says hundreds of people with albinism have been murdered and mutilated in at least 15 African countries. But in Nigeria, one of the countries named in the UN report, people living with Albinism have set up an Albino foundation to fight back against the negative mindset.
