Healthworkers in contact with French Ebola nurse given all-clear
The monitoring of healthcare workers who had been in contact with a French nurse infected with Ebola has ended, France's Health Minister Marisol Touraine said on Tuesday. “Everything went well,” she declared.

“We monitored on a daily basis each of the 70 healthcare workers who had been in contact with this young infected nurse,” said the health minister.
The nurse, who had been working with the Doctors Without Borders NGO in Liberia and is the only French citizen to be contaminated with Ebola so far, was declared cured at the beginning of October.
The medical teams who had cared for her at a military hospital near Paris were monitored for Ebola after her discharge.
While stressing that “there is no such thing as zero risk", Touraine said that France has been preparing for cases since the beginning of the outbreak.
Of a total of 480 notifications of possible Ebola cases listed by France's health monitoring body since June, 17 cases were considered serious but none of them tested positive, the institute's head Dr François Bourdillon said last week.
