French Foreign Minister in Niger to present anti-Boko Haram strategy
France’s Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius arrived Sunday morning in Niamey after visiting Chad and Cameroon on Saturday.

Niger’s capital is the last leg of his three-country tour focused on combating the militant group Boko Haram that has staged attacks in four countries outside of its north-eastern stronghold in Nigeria.
A key part of Fabius’s trip has been to push for the international community to help support regional military responses to Boko Haram, including the 8,700 troops that will be on the ground from April 1.
Specifically, the French Foreign Minister is working to garner support for a resolution from the UN Security Council that would legitimise the anti-Boko Haram African force and the backing of a donor conference that would cover the gaps in its deployment.
The anti-Boko Haram force will be comprised of soldiers and other personnel from Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, Niger and Benin.
