Issued on:

India is hosting a summit with African leaders next weekend in a bid to woo the resource-rich continent whose largest trading partner is currently China. The four-day India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS) beginning on 26 October is the third such meeting after New Delhi in 2008 and Addis Ababa in 2011. Leaders of more than 50 African countries are expected to attend the summit following other recent official exchanges between the regions. In the first of a 5-part series our correspondent Murali Krishnan brings you the various facets of India’s growing relationship with the African continent.
