Deadlock over how to reduce the US debt

In the United States, equity markets suffered further losses on Wednesday, after a poor German debt auction fuelled fears over Europe's fiscal crisis. Meanwhile, the two major political parties in the US continue to disagree on ways to reduce the government debt. Nicole Woo, director of domestic policy at the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington explains the situation.
