US presidential candidate Mitt Romney performed well during the first presidential debate. According to critics, he was energetic, agressive and clear in his criticism of the current government. Meanwhile, President Barack Obama came across as irritated and passive. RFI spoke to Thomas Ferguson, an analyst who has been following the campaign on a day-to-day basis.
