Six French nationals who were reported missing in the Carribean after Hurricane Sandy passed through the region returned to port in Martinique safe and sound, according to local rescue services.

A search was launched for the four men and two women after the partner of one of the men became worried that they had not returned on Sunday afternoon.

They had left the French island to go to a music festival on neighbouring Dominica.

Despite stormy seas caused by Hurricane Sandy, they made the 30-kilometre journey back without problem, the rescue services said Monday.
