Strauss-Kahn pimping probe to continue
A court in northern France has refused to scrap an inquiry into pimping allegations against former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn. His lawyers say he will appeal.

The court in Douai on Wednesday threw out a call by Strauss-Kahn’s lawyers to drop the case against Strauss-Kahn, in which he and some local well-known figures are accused of providing prostitutes for sex party’s at the Hotel Carlton in nearby Lille.
They accused the judges of bias and claimed that they had not received some elements pertaining to the case.
“M Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s defence is certain that he will eventually be cleared of the absurd accusations of procuring against him, which contradict judicial analysis as much as they do comment sense,” they said in a statement.
In October a Lille court dropped charges of rape made against Strauss-Kahn in a case relating to the Carlton affair.
On 10 December he settled the sexual assault case with New York hotel chambermaid Nafissatou Diallo out of court.
