Flash floods in the southern Pakistani province of Baluchistan has cost 60 lives and lefts tens of thousands homeless, according to local press reports.Torrential rains which caused the floods have also hampered rescue efforts.
The death toll rose to 60 on Saturday, according to the Dawn newspaper, with 10 people reported dead in the Lehri and Tull areas.
More than 80,000 people are affected with thousands homeless and others struggling to save their belongings from flooded homes.
Dozens of villages and towns have been submerged in water, electric pylons have been swept away and train services to the rest of the country have been suspended because sections of track were swept away by flash floods.
Aid officials say that flooded roads have made it impossible to reach some areas but that helicopters have been deployed.
Villagers in flood-hit Bakhtiarabad on Friday blocked a major road and burnt tyres, chanting slogans against the government, according to the Daily Times. They claimed that 4,000 people who had been made homeless by the downpour have received no help.
