Afghan police chiefs, three German soldiers killed in suicide bombing
The top police officer in northern Afghanistan was among seven people killed in a suicide bombing of the offices of the governor of Takhar province Saturday.

Seven people died, including north Afghanistan police chief General Daoud Daoud and the
provincial police chief and three German soldiers who were with Isaf, the international force in the country.
Eight people were reported to have been injured in the attack.
The bomber was waiting in the corridor outside a meeting on security and set off his explosives as the participants started to leave the room, according to local official Qutubudin Kamal who was present at the time.
It is unknown if the foreign troops were killed or injured.
The Taliban have claimed responsibility.
Fighting is also reported in the remote north-eastern province of Nuristan.
