Nepali women isolated during menstruation

Issued on:

During menstruation and childbirth, manu Nepali women are isolated and stay in cowsheds, or small rooms, away from the house and they are allowed to eat only dry food. Although this practice is illegal, it is common in rural Nepal. Many people, including women, believe it is a cultural practice and should be continued.
