Indian prisoners did the time but not the crime

In India a civil rights body has detailed 16 cases in which citizens were arrested and served prison sentences, only to be later acquitted of all charges. In some cases, those arrested were accused of being operatives and agents of terrorist organisations. Police were even held responsible for fabricating evidence to frame the accused.
