Sri Lanka bans rights meet on eve of Commonwealth summit

Tamils staged a rare protest in northern Sri Lanka on Tuesday ahead of the Commonwealth Heads Of Government Meeting later this week. The International Bar Association's Human Right Institute had planned to open a seminar on the same day but was barred from doing so by the Sri Lankan authorities.
