In Bangladesh, the incumbent prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League won the controversial election on Sunday by a landslide. The election was boycotted by the main opposition party which demanded that the elections be declared null and void. It was also the most violent election in the country’s independence history claiming the lives of 26 people.
