Indian Supreme Court concerned at misuse of anti-dowry law

India's Supreme Court says women are increasingly misusing the tough anti-dowry law to harass their husbands and in-laws. Several cases have come to light where unhappy wives are using this protective law to extort money from their in-laws and land their husbands in jail. As a result increasing numbers of Indian men live in fear of legal action.
