Da Vinci meets Jules Verne at French automaton factory

Since 2007 a warehouse on the island of the French city of Nantes has been home to a company making fantastic mechanical creatures. Blending the mechanical universe of Leonardo da Vinci with the imaginary worlds of the city’s own famous writer Jules Verne, the Machines de l’Ile combines street theatre, sculpture and mechanical design.
