French magazine resists internet onslaught

The French written press is struggling to survive in a publishing landscape dominated by internet. As papers close down or lay off staff, one French publication is bucking the trend. The quarterly news magazine XXI carries in-depth articles but no ads. Considered a UFO when it was first launched five years ago, it’s proved a huge success and is calling upon other French media to dare to break the mould, too.
