French producer-composer Ludovic Navarre, alias St Germain, has made a long-awaited comeback after a 15-year break following his highly successful album Tourist. For his latest eponymous album, the leading light in so-called French touch electronica turned to Mississippi blues and a host of Malian musicians for inspiration. Guitarist Guimba Kouyaté, kora player Mamadou Cherif Soumano, Sadio Kone on n’goni and vocalists Adama Coulibaly, Nahawa Doumbia and Fanta Bagayogo provided the stunning raw materials, Navarre's ears and computer skills took care of the alchemy.
