The Sound Kitchen: One Young World summit

Issued on:

We hear about the One Young World summit in London, where 1000 young people from around the world gathered to see how they can change the world. With welcoming words from Archbishop Desmond Tutu. There's also music chosen by the delegates and, of course, the quiz.

This week’s quiz question:

On the Sound Kitchen you can hear Archbishop Desmond Tutu addressing the young people at the inaugural One Young World summit in London last week. He’s a Nobel Peace Laureate, nominated for his role as a unifying leader in the non-violent campaign against apartheid in South Africa. What year was that? What year did the Nobel committee choose Desmond Tutu as the laureate?

Send your answers by Monday, 22 March to:

Or via e-mail: English.service@rfi.fr

The answer will be read on the 28 March show.

ATTENTION: If you click on “Send us your comments” on this web page, your answer will NOT go where it is supposed to go. It could easily get lost, so only use english.service@rfi.fr

Also, on the Club 9516/Sound Kitchen, we’ll be trying out some new recipes … But we need some help in the kitchen – and you’re just the one to do it.

I want you to write me and tell me about people in your community who are doing good things. I want us to have a regular feature on the Club 9516/Sound Kitchen about “ordinary” heros – the people in your community who are trying to make the world a better place.

And I still want your favourite bad jokes, your favourite proverb, your favourite recipe – this one is really important, as we’re cooking up a surprise for you - and here’s a new one: what is the weirdest thing that ever happened to you (or one of them, because I sure find there are a lot of weird things happening)?

To your pens! Send your thoughts to thesoundkitchen@rfi.fr or via “real” mail to:
