Tutu's daughter pens his authorised bio

Issued on:

South Africa’s Archbishop Desmond Tutu is celebrating his 80th birthday with a party in Cape Town. The celebrations began yesterday inside St George's Cathedral, with a launch of his new biography Tutu: The Authorised Portrait. It was written by his youngest daughter, Mpho, and a prominent journalist, Allister Sparks. The audience included anti-apartheid leaders such as Ahmed Kathrada and Alan Boesak. It also included Mabel van Oranje, Chief Executive Officer of the Global Elders, a group of eminent individuals that Tutu is part of.
