There are reports that Al-Qaeda's North Africa branch, also known as Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (Aqim) has shaken-up it's leadership. According to several sources, Aqim's leader, Abdelmalek Droukdel, has appointed a new deputy in charge of the Sahara Sahel region. He has taken one of his its top commanders out of northern Mali. RFI spoke to Valentina Soria, a terrorism analyst at the Royal United Service Institute in London.
