Do you know where your food comes from? In Senegal, the locavore movement is growing. A locavore is one who eats foods grown locally whenever possible. Now thanks to a collaboration between IT and agro-business entrepreneurs buying processed grains, fruit and vegetables direct from small scale manufacturers is just a click away. Just recently , the president of the African Development Bank declared in Dakar that Africa must stop importing raw materials, and export locally processed products instead, to ensure the welfare of its people. In the second part of a five part series on Entrepreneurship in Senegal, Emmanuelle Landais meets with a collective of women and computer scientists who are involved in this movement.
