National People's Congress starts in China

Issued on:

The yearly session of China's rubber stamp parliament, the National People's Congress, has started in Beijing. The session takes place while China is feeling the effects of the economic crisis in the west. Some 3,000 delegates have gathered and will discuss issues including the economic crisis, the new president and corruption. RFI talked to Michael Dillon, a China scholar who follows the quagmire of Chinese politics closely, and asked him what we can expect from the Chinese lawmakers.
