EU parliament debates single renewable energy market

Issued on:

Members of the European Parliament today debate the creation of a single renewable energy market. The European Union aims to produce 20 per cent of its energy from renewable sources by 2020. To do this, member states will have to build networks to transport excess energy created by renewables such as offshore wind and solar plants. RFI spoke to Georg Zachmann, a specialist on energy and climate change at the Brussels-based think tank Bruegel.
