Germany's Green Party used to be the most popular environmantalist party in the world, even winning local and state elections. Just two years ago, 25 per cent of Germans said they would vote for it in a national election. But as the country prepares to elect a new parliament on 22 September, support for the environmental movement seems to be dwindling.
